TL;DR: Botched balayage bleach job, ghosted me after asking for refund. Full story: I saw Miranda for a balayage and haircut, what I left with was a mess. I showed her photos of how my balayage usually looks, as I've been having it done for the last 10 years. I like to have it bleached at a salon so I can go home and add some vivids. I let her know there was some grown out balayage from a year ago, as that's the last time I had it done. She didn't seem to have any concerns about that. When she was finished I took a quick look in the mirror and the top layer of my hair looked okay for the price, so I paid and left. When I got home I got my vivids prepared but when I started pulling my hair up to section it, I could see on the hair that I brought to the front over my shoulder that there was huge gaps of natural hair between my newly bleached hair and my year old balayage. I immediately texted her with a photo and asked for her thoughts before I proceeded with color. When she responded a couple of hours later, she assured me it would blend out with color because I still had blonde from before and if it didn't, I could come back in to have the balayage fixed. So I went ahead and applied the color but I could see immediately that it didn't fix the issue. I sent a text immediately when I saw my applied color wasn't blending it and we arranged another appointment for it to be fixed. When my husband got home he was able to see the back of my head and took a photo for me to see. It was worse than I could imagine. There was a huge band of natural hair across my entire head between the top and bottom because she did not bleach down the entire strand of my hair but stopped about halfway. The bleach was not blended out or feathered at the top so it was harsh and uneven and NOT balayage. Hello 2001 highlights! I was never given a second mirror to look at the back of my head at the salon and I'm starting to understand maybe why that is. I no longer trusted her after I was able to see the back of my head. I contacted a color correction specialist, sent in the pictures for a virtual consultation and got a price. I contacted Miranda asking for a refund, explaining that the issues were much more extensive than we originally thought, and that while I appreciated her time and willingness to correct it, more was going to be needed done than I was comfortable having her do and I was going to use a color correction specialist. No response since. I sent one follow up text with still no response. As for the haircut, I had to have it recut because the split ends I came to her with were still there. Just a mess all around. Hair by Nikole in Pickerington saved my hair from this disaster so head over to her if you are here looking at reviews to find a new stylist.
